The O’Leary’s are a fifth generation farming family, owned and run by Denis & Margaret O’Leary along with their son, Matthew and his wife Julie. 20 years ago they commenced researching organics. They first sought certification in 1987, receiving ‘A’ grade certification in 1989 and have never looked back.What a learning curve! The O’Leary’s overcame many obstacles through trial and error. Soon, the soil on the property had started to improve its vitality and the condition of the animal’s health improved. After eliminating the use of synthetic chemicals on the property certain allergies and ailments suffered by family members had significantly reduced or had gone completely. For this reason alone the O’Leary’s could see that the brave and challenging decision to change to organic farming practices for their enterprise was the right one. The O'Leary's understand the land and the environment. They are authentic farmers appreciating the nuances of Mother Nature. Organic farming is about returning benefits to the land and to those who manage their land sustainably. Their organic farming and wholesaling operation started to take shape and Australian Organic Meats(AOM) emerged.
